Reach Scotland
We are one church in Glasgow but we share a vision for reaching not just our own city but our nation with the gospel. Some years ago when we were thinking through our vision we encapsulated it in the word REACH - Re-Evangelising And Churching Scotland.
As a city church, the main way we can contribute to this is through training and equipping the many young Christians who are with us during their years of study or in the workplace and pass through our Release The Word programme. We seek to equip them to serve in many churches where they may move to live and work in future.
We also began the ministry of Cornhill Scotland principally to train men for pastoral ministry for Scotland. Since 2006 hundreds of people have been trained through the Cornhill Training Course and Pastors Training Course for that and other Bible teaching ministries in partnership with churches all over Scotland and beyond.
We host the annual Expository Ministry Conference each June which is focused on encouraging expository preaching alongside theological reflection and other pastoral issues facing those in church ministry.
However there is more to reaching Scotland than just preaching to Scotland. The Apostle Paul makes clear that pastors must both preach the word of God and also manage the household of God well in order to serve the great commission of the church. Since 2019, we have partnered with a group of others locally in seeking to help our ministries organise better for our calling and desire to see Scotland Reached - Re-evangelised and Churched - for the Lord Jesus.
In October 2026, we are organising this more formally to hold our first Managing Churches for Mission conference, to bring leadership teams from a number of churches together to think through various aspects of how we organise better for mission. For details see here.
We also partner with Melville Knox School, which has a campus in our Kelvingrove premises. This seeks to provide an excellent Christian education to children which we trust will bear fruit in Christian service and leadership in the Scottish Church in future years.
